Work on piling has continued all week and the final piles will be driven through the pool structure early next week. The good news is that currently the deepest pile has only been driven down 8-9m before resting on supporting ground. The piles in place have been cut level with the pool floor and reinforcement rods have been inserted down in preparation for the cement, which is due to be delivered early next week.
They have removed all the blue tiles from the walls.
They have attempted to remove one of the scum channel blocks, but unfortunately it’s impossible. We are continuing to research alternative options that will still retain our heritage. We may have no other option than to get them made as a one off, but this will be very expensive.
Three valves have been removed from the pipe work behind the deepend wall for refurbishment along with two valves in the main plant room. We have also disconnected a section of pipe work in the main plant room to enable access for a pipeline survey next week.
Work has continued on the foundations for the pool surround and the slab area outside the cafe has now been lifted ready for hardcore.
We have cut back shrubs around the walkways to ensure access to all slab areas.
