Earlier in the project you may recall that we couldn't reuse the original scum channels as planned. Modern scum channels are very different in appearance and would have changed the traditional image dramatically. We had to consider the cost implication of having channels made specifically for our facility against the value of our heritage. Following Trust meetings and talks with the Heritage Lottery Fund it was agreed that we would have to find the additional funds required to ensure we maintained the historical image of the swimming pool.

The new scum channels have now been ordered, however due to the method of build they will not be on site until January 2007.
